Facebook launches 'Instant Games' on Messenger


A new service called Instant Games is now available for those who use the Messenger and Facebook News Feed on both mobile and web. In an interesting turn of events, Facebook has announced that its users will now be able to play games while on the go.

Facebook hopes some friendly competition will get you to spend even more time in Messenger. You compete non – parallel via high scores instead of directly at the same time, so it’s convenient to try your luck any time. And eventually, Instant Games could earn Facebook ad dollars from developers promoting their games. Or a cut of payments, though there are no in-game purchases allowed yet.

Instant Games is recently available in 30 countries for iOS v8 or later and Android 5.0 Marshmallow or later. Facebook is offering the following games – Arkanoid, Endless Lake, Space Invaders, Galaga,  Hex, Pac Man, Zookeeper and Brick Pop etc.

All games accessible through Facebook’s new Instant Games feature are free to play. The game will run in a web view and work across Messenger and the Facebook News Feed on mobile and desktop.

Instant Games now develops as a game controller icon just below where people type a message, offers a fun. It would give you social experience featuring score-based games, leaderboards, and group thread conversations to challenge and compete against anyone on Messenger.

According to Facebook, the new Instant Games HTML5 cross-platform gaming experience is meant to allow users to easily discover, share and play games without having to install new apps.

Facebook has opened this technology to developers as well and more games will be introduced soon on the platform. With over 1.79 billion users on Facebook, App developers have a great chance to showcase their talent and games.

Depending on the game you play, you will get access to leaderboards and group thread conversations that will allow you to challenge and compete against basically anyone on Messenger. It can be accessed through the new game controller icon just below where people type a message, offers a fun

As mentioned earlier, Instant Games can be accessed via Facebook News Feed. A dedicated Instant Games bookmark is available on Facebook where people can view and instantly replay all their favorite titles.
